Chemistry
A narrative-driven course for non-science majors. Students collect evidence, study techniques and equipment, and use the forensic chemistry they've learned to solve a virtual murder.
UniVirtual is not another online space where students passively consume material—our platform offers active and experiential learning. We have created highly dynamic exercises, absorbing narratives, and social, collaborative spaces where instructors and students work together in real time. This promotes a profound sense of presence, in stark contrast to the isolation students often feel with traditional online platforms, with no Zoom Fatigue. Every student, regardless of their location, can participate, ensuring a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

“The metaverse is very cool to work in. (The students)… have a really great time, and we sneak a little bit of chemistry in with everything else. We’re still looking at the scientific method, and we hold them to a really high standard, but they have such fun doing it that they don’t even know that they’re being taught.”

Instructors in the Virtual Classroom
In this blog, we explore why we believe instructors are a vital component in the virtual classroom. Through an introduction of the tools available in virtual spaces and sharing the experiences of an instructor who regularly teaches in them, we see how an instructor’s presence is essential to enhancing student experience in online labs.

How are virtual environments revolutionizing learning?
From lifelike simulations to abstract worlds, virtual spaces help us visualize and interact with things we might never be able to otherwise. How do we make virtual learning effective yet still fun? In this blog, we summarize our main aspirations when converting traditional learning materials into virtual games and activities.
