Environmental Science
In this course, designed for Non-Science Majors, students apply scientific methodologies and explore places they couldn't visit in a traditional course.
UniVirtual is not another online space where students passively consume material—our platform offers active and experiential learning. We have created highly dynamic exercises, absorbing narratives, and social, collaborative spaces where instructors and students work together in real time. This promotes a profound sense of presence, in stark contrast to the isolation students often feel with traditional online platforms, with no Zoom Fatigue. Every student, regardless of their location, can participate, ensuring a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

Enhancing Student Experience: Case Study
Dr. William Landing hoped virtual learning might be an effective way of teaching core Environmental Science concepts outside of traditional classes and lectures. He hoped that by taking his students on “virtual field trips,” he could enable them to apply what they had learned in his classes to real-world scenarios in an exciting and engaging way. After adopting UniVirtual, Dr. Landing’s student satisfaction improved and enrollment increased.

UniVirtual: Environmental Science Fact Sheet
Students travel back in time to Easter Island, discovering what caused the collapse of the Rapa Nui culture. They monitor invasive species by SCUBA diving on the Great Barrier Reef, and analyze the Earth’s climate change by drilling ice cores in the Antarctic. They also explore a suburban housing development, learning about the design, construction, and maintenance of sustainable buildings.

How are virtual environments revolutionizing learning?
From lifelike simulations to abstract worlds, virtual spaces help us visualize and interact with things we might never be able to otherwise. How do we make virtual learning effective yet still fun? In this blog, we summarize our main aspirations when converting traditional learning materials into virtual games and activities.
