Biology Students Rated UniVirtual: Here’s What They Said
In Spring 2025, 456 biology students at the University of Central Florida completed a survey about their experience using UniVirtual as part of their introductory biology course. The results provide insight into how students engage with the platform, navigate its interface, and interact with support resources.
Student Engagement
Students were asked to rate their overall experience with UniVirtual and its value as a learning tool.
93.9% reported a positive general experience
96.7% agreed UniVirtual had educational value
93.2% said they found the platform enjoyable or engaging
Overall, 94% of students had a positive experience engaging with UniVirtual.
Ease of Navigation
The survey included several questions about how students interacted with core navigation and avatar tools within the virtual environment.
96.3% said navigating the UniVirtual course dashboard was easy and intuitive
95% found avatar creation straightforward
91.6% were able to create an avatar they liked
83.2% said they could move around the virtual lab effortlessly
Overall, 91.5% of students had a positive experience navigating UniVirtual.
Support Satisfaction
While not all students needed support, those who did reported high levels of satisfaction.
96.4% were satisfied with support from UniVirtual’s team (in-world, email, or phone)
97.3% were satisfied with support from their Teaching Assistants in the virtual world
95% were satisfied with chatbot support
Overall, 96% of students who used any form of support rated the experience positively.
This feedback highlights how UniVirtual contributes to a positive and engaging learning experience. Students describe our platform as both educational and enjoyable, with strong marks for ease of use and the quality of support available.
