The Work We’ve Already Done for Your Virtual Classroom

When you add UniVirtual to your curriculum, you and your students step into virtual environments that are classroom and lab ready. Everything required to teach and learn is in place from the start. That’s because our courses are built and maintained in close partnership with educators and shaped through processes that relieve pressure from entire departments, something we’ve been passionate about since we co-designed the first virtual degree in 2012.

In this blog, we share the groundwork that we’ve already completed to make our courses reliable, engaging, and ready the moment you need them.

Designed Around Teacher Need

Every UniVirtual course available today began with a specific teaching challenge. For example: our biology labs were created to support thousands of students with limited instructor availability; our economics activities were developed to allow every student to take part in experiments that were impossible to run at scale in a physical lecture hall. Needs like these shape the learning objectives and instructional design of every UniVirtual lab.

The student experience was built with equal care. Activities, environments, and narrative elements were all created alongside professors to help students practise skills effectively, understand difficult concepts, and stay engaged. This foundational work is present in all our courses.

Developed to Support, Not Distract

A virtual lab only succeeds when students can focus on the subject rather than the software. Our team has built an interface that stays out of the way and supports a cleaner learning flow. Text is readable on a wide range of screens. Workbook pages are broken into manageable pieces to reduce fatigue. Orientation sessions ensure students can move through their environment confidently and begin learning without delay.

The learning environments we offer have been refined for over a decade, with feedback from thousands of students and teachers shaping improvements.

The UniVirtual experience you receive today is the result of continuous, long-term refinement.

Streamlined for Students

Before students ever enter a UniVirtual lab, our QA and testing teams ensure everything works exactly as it should on systems students are likely to use. Nothing about technology should interrupt the learning experience.

The result has been fewer TAs needed to support students in our virtual learning environments than their real-world equivalents. As a bonus, students experience a decrease in learning anxiety when they do need to ask for help, as doing so through their avatar feels less daunting than in face-to-face classes.

Simple Set-Up

When an institution adds UniVirtual to their classroom, they are not left to install or configure the software or platform settings themselves. Our team works directly with IT departments to ensure everything is ready before the semester begins. Students can use campus computers or their own devices, and we assist either way.

Registration and payments are handled through us too, reducing administrative work for departments. UniVirtual can be integrated into any LMS and aligned with existing workflows. Instructor training is included, giving faculty the confidence and skills they need to teach in the virtual world without increasing their workload.

Support That Stays (with) the Course

Our on-demand support continues after launch. UniVirtual team members are present during scheduled lab times to assist both students and instructors, so teachers are not left handling unexpected queries alone. If an issue arises, we resolve it quickly so class can continue without interruption.

The Complete Package

When you add UniVirtual to your classroom, the instructional design, development, testing, and support are already in place. Our virtual environments have been shaped through years of classroom use, adapted through ongoing feedback, and refined to help students stay focused on the material.

UniVirtual is more than software. Our team continues to maintain and support you, your course, and your students, so you’re never left to manage it alone. This is the work behind every virtual lab we offer, giving students the space to learn and teachers the space to teach with confidence.
